I’m here to listen, support, and guide you, while also encouraging you to identify and make tangible shifts that can improve your quality of life.

Our work together will be a journey of exploration and growth, using meaningful conversations and practical exercises to help you uncover and manage deeper insights about yourself.

FAQ

How many sessions will I need?

The duration of counselling varies based on individual needs and goals. Some

clients find that just one or two sessions are sufficient to address specific

concerns, while others may benefit from a longer course of therapy, 3-6-12 months. During our

initial consultation, we'll discuss your unique situation to determine the most

appropriate approach. Your active participation and commitment to the process

can significantly influence the pace and effectiveness of our work together.

I prefer not to use my camera during sessions. Is that okay?

If you prefer not to use your camera or speak live, that's completely fine. I'm happy to adjust to what works best for you. We can communicate via voice messages, email, or text, whatever feels most comfortable.

Will you provide tools or resources to use at home?

Yes! Many of the tools and techniques we explore in our sessions are designed to be applied in your daily life. While our time together each week provides valuable insights, the real growth happens between sessions—when you work on the practical exercises I provide and apply the insights you've learned to your life.

What should I prepare for, and what will the therapeutic work be like?

There’s no need to prepare anything specific—just come as you are. However, if it feels helpful, you’re welcome to jot down any thoughts, questions, or topics you’d like to discuss. Our work together will be a collaborative process tailored to your needs, whether you're seeking support, clarity, or practical

strategies. Depending on your goals, we may explore your thoughts and emotions, identify patterns, or practice mindfulness and solution-focused techniques. Some sessions may feel reflective, while others may be more structured. Throughout, you’ll be in a supportive space where you can move at your own

pace, with no pressure or judgment.

What happens in the first session?

After our introductions, we’ll take a moment to go over some essential details, including terms and conditions, confidentiality, and how we’ll work together. I’ll also ask a few general questions or to better

understand your background, such as whether you’ve seen a psychologist, therapist, counselor before. There’s no right or wrong answer—this just helps me get a sense of what might feel familiar or new for you. Then, we’ll explore what brought you here and what you’re hoping to focus on. There’s no pressure to have everything figured out right away—this is simply a chance to get to know each other and set the foundation for our work together. We’ll discuss your goals, and you’ll have the space to ask any questions. From there, we can decide on the next steps and how best to support your journey.

It’s completely normal to feel nervous, especially before the first session—most people feel this way. This is a space where it’s okay to shake, cry, laugh, or not have all the answers right away. You are welcome just as you are.

Is therapy confidential?

Yes, everything you share in our sessions is completely confidential. I am committed to creating a safe space for you, where you can speak openly and honestly. The information you share will only be used to support your work together, and I adhere to strict ethical guidelines to protect your privacy.

Is my problem “big enough” for therapy? Can therapy help me?

It’s completely normal to wonder whether your concerns are “big enough” for therapy. The truth is, therapy isn’t just for crises—it’s for anyone who wants support, clarity, or personal growth. You don’t need to have a specific diagnosis or a major life event to benefit from therapy. If something is weighing on your mind, impacting your well-being, or holding you back, therapy can help. Whether you’re facing stress, anxiety, grief, life transitions, or simply feeling stuck, our sessions provide a space to explore

what’s going on and find ways forward. No concern is too small, and you deserve support for whatever you're going through.

How do I know if therapy is working?

Therapy looks different for everyone, and progress isn’t always a straight line. Some signs that therapy is working might include feeling a little more aware of your emotions, gaining new insights, handling situations differently, or noticing small shifts in your thoughts and reactions. Sometimes, the changes are subtle at first, but over time, they build into meaningful progress. We’ll regularly check in to reflect on how the process is going for you, and I encourage you to share openly if there’s anything you’d like to adjust or approach differently. Therapy is a collaborative process, and your input is always valued in shaping it to best support you.

Can I try one session before committing to more?

Yes, absolutely. Starting therapy is a big step, and it’s important that you feel comfortable. You’re welcome to have an initial session to see how it feels for you—there’s no obligation to commit to more if it doesn’t feel like the right fit. If you do decide to continue, we’ll shape the process around your needs, whether that means regular sessions or a more flexible approach.

What if I don’t know what to talk about or how to express my feelings?

That’s completely okay—many people feel this way. You don’t need to have a plan or the “right” words. Some sessions might start with a simple check-in, while others may unfold naturally. If you’re unsure, I’ll gently guide the conversation with open-ended questions, helping us find a starting point. We

can explore what’s been on your mind, how certain situations make you feel, or even start with something as simple as how your body is reacting in the moment. There’s no pressure—just a supportive space where you can go at your own pace.
